Chloe & Morgan started their Recipe Books with these Appetizers

Sweet and Sour Sauce for Won Tons
1 c. water or ½ c water and ½ cup sugar
6oz. Pineapple juice 2 to 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
½ c. vinegar 4 tsp. cornstarch
Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sauce boils. Continue to boil and stir for 1 minute. Keep sauce warm.

Crab and Cream Cheese Won Tons
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese 1/3 lb. imitation
2 -3 green onions, cut in thin slices crabmeat
Mix all ingredients together. Place a teaspoon in center of won ton skin. Seal edges with water. Deep-fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent towel. If you need to make these ahead of time, you can crisp them in the oven, uncovered, on a cookie sheet at 250for 15 minutes.

Tortilla roll-ups
1pkg. Large flour tortillas 1 small can green 1(16 oz.)sour cream chilies ( I use mild-
1 can sliced or diced olives Your preference) 1 pkg. Schilling
taco seasoning(optional) 1 cup grated chedder 1 (8 oz) cream cheese cheese
( I use light cream cheese)
Mix all ingredients except for the flour tortillas. Take one tortilla at a time and spread large spoonfuls of the mixture over the tortillas clear to the edges. Roll up tortillas tight as possible and place in refrigerator over night. Next day, cut up as wide or thin as you want.

7 layer dip
1 lb. ground beef 1/2cup mayonnaise
½ cup mild salsa 1 1/2tps. Taco
1 can refried beans seasoning mix
2 cups Cheddar cheese , grated 2 medium avocados,
2 medium tomatoes, chopped chopped & smashed
1tsp.lemon juice(add to avocados 3 green onions, sliced
Immediately) 1/2cup sour cream1 large bag tortilla chips
In large skillet, brown beef, rinse, and drain. Add salsa and beans. Heat through. In a small bowl, Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning mix. In a jelly role pan, begin your layers. First layer is the beef mixture. Second layer is avocadoes. Third ;layer is sour cream mixture. Fourth layer is Cheddar cheese .Fifth layer is the olives. Sixth layer is tomatoes. Seventh layer is the green onions. Serve with tortilla chips. Makes 8 servings


Cheese Ball
2 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese 1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch
4 to 6 oz finely grated sharp dressing mix
Cheddar cheese
Combine dressing mix with cream cheese. Mix in grated cheese. Divide into 3 balls, Roll balls into chopped walnuts or pecans. Wrap in plastic wrap to keep fresh. Chill. Serve with your favorite crackers.
Options: Divide cheese mixture into 6 small cheese logs. Chill. Wrap 1 cheese log with one tube package of Ritz crackers and give as a gift.

Sausage Dip
2 pkg. 12 oz. Sausage 1 16 oz. Sour Cream
1 8 oz cream cheese 3 chopped tomatoes
3 chopped onions (green)
Brown sausage. Add sour cream, cream cheese, tomatoes and onions. Cook in crock pot on high for up to 3 hours or on low for up to 12 hours. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetables.

New Years Recipes

Shrimp Dip

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp shrimp juice
1 tsp pickle juice
1-2 tsp milk (I use canned milk)
1/4 cup pickles, diced
2 small cans shrimp
dash of salt and pepper


Sausage Puff Balls

1- 12 oz pkg bulk hot sausage
1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup buttermilk bisquick mix

Preheat oven to 350*. In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients until well blended. Shape into walnut size balls. Place on a rack in a shallow pan. Bake 35-45 minutes or until lightly brown.

A Christmas Time Favorite!

Coconut Bread
4 eggs beaten
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
2 tsp coconut flavoring
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup coconut
1 cup walnuts
Preheat oven to 300*. Mix all ingredients together and put in greased bread pan. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes. After it is cooked and toothpick comes out clean when you stick it in the middle of loaf, take out of oven and tip over on plate. While it is cooling, mix syrup.
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 TBLS butter
Boil for 5 minutes. Then add 1 tsp coconut flavoring. Pour over bread while it is still warm. Let it cool before cutting.
